Here today, gone tomorrow!

On 30 June 2017, the Sothern Courier announced,

HEARTBROKEN residents will be evicted from their Randwick homes as the State Government prepares to bulldoze 88 properties to make way for its $720 million hospital expansion.

The huge project to redevelop the Randwick medical and education precinct will see 62 privately owned homes and businesses on land wedged between Prince of Wales Hospital and UNSW compulsorily purchased and demolished in the second half of next year.

Teams from Health Infrastructure visited homes in Eurimbla Ave, Magill St and Botany St just five days before the funding was announced in the Budget, while some families received a letter under the door or were told by neighbours and others still did not know about the plan.

It’s happened.  The residents of Eurimbla Avenue, Botany Street, and half of Magill Street have gone, and so have their houses.

The story is to be told on the Eurimbla Precinct website: http://www.eurimblaprecinct.com.au/
